Fuck eBay - Surprising Google Search Results?

Results 1 - 10 of about 1,450,000 for fuck ebay.
Don't ask me why, but a few days ago, I tried a Google search for "fuck ebay" (without the inverted commas), and was amused to note there were about 1.5 million results. It seems like a lot of people dislike eBay enough to create a web page expressing their opinion.
It amused me enough to decide to share it with the rest of the world, hence this page.

Fuck Who or What Else?
Of course, a single figure cannot be a meaningful statistic without some relative point to compare it with, so I tried to think who or what might also be unpopular, starting with Microsoft, and got some interesting results:-
2,030,000fuck bush.
1,450,000fuck ebay
891,000fuck microsoft
789,000fuck bell
672,000fuck labour
618,000fuck ferrari
563,000fuck blair
489,000fuck bin laden.
266,000fuck conservatives
168,000fuck enron

Conclusions
It's probably rather rash to attempt to draw firm conclusions from a lazy form of quick poll such as this, especially without trying to analyse any of the results to check they are anti the same subject as we presume. Even so, it is probably a safe bet that most of the "fuck Bush" results were protesting about George W. Bush, the US President, rather than any anti-shrubbery motives. If so, we can see from the above table that the only person, company or other entity more unpopular the eBay is George Bush junior.
It also seems that eBay are over 50% more unpopular than Microsoft, and over three times more so than Bin Laden!
I also performed a Google search simply for "fuck" in order to obtain a shortlist of hate objects, tested those results in the same way as above, and discarded any which failed to make the top ten above.
Enron only just made it onto the list, which I found surprising, considering it recently perpetrated the world's biggest financial scandal, and must have lost billions of dollars for its shareholders and other creditors. Apparently eBay has upset about 9 times more people than Enron already, and as it's still a going concern, it makes me wonder just how unpopular it will allow itself to become before it does something positive to fix the problem.

Other Results
While compiling the above table, I realised that I was omitting some results, but these were mainly for search terms which I believed may have been using the word "fuck" in its more correct term, so for example:-
3,330,000fuck women
2,810,000fuck men
1,480,000fuck gay
871,000fuck gays

Any of the above, may be ambiguous, and be intended to convey extreme dislike, or the opposite, or be some kind of adverting!

Familiarity May Breed Contempt
At least, the better known the entity, the more people there may be who detest it, even if there are also more who love it. It reminds me that some years ago, British Airways used to win the "Most Popular" and "Least Popular" categories in an annual air travel survey. Just after writing that last sentence, I checked whether I had originally searched for "fuck BA" or "fuck British Airways", and "fuck BA" registered 617,000, while "fuck British Airways" scored 810,000. Many of these last two results appeared not to be directed at the airline, so it's probably correct to ignore them.
Entities such as tax, and government are likely to be more universally recognised than Bush or eBay, a dislike if government might well be directed at many of the hundreds of governments worldwide, so we tried tested them also, with the following results, this time including a few other popular expressions:-

19,200,000fuck you
17,700,000fuck me
6,910,000fuck all
3,670,000fuck work
2,250,000fuck yourself
1,820,000fuck government
1,770,000fuck congress
1,500,000fuck police
1,170,000fuck blacks
809,000fuck tax
698,000fuck george bush
478,000fuck whites
266,000fuck conservatives

Final Comment
It looks like more research would be needed to draw firm conclusions from much of the above, but even so, it looks as though performing a Google search for fuck combining with the object of your interest may provide a quick popularity guide.

eBay Feedback on eBay?
Alright, one final thought for this page, and perhaps a good subject for another page, if people could give eBay a feedback rating as they can for other users, what would it be?
As eBay claim over 100 million users, on one quick reckoning, its feedback might be a reasonably respectable 98.5%. This ignores that fact that feedback on eBay is almost automatic, while creating a fuck eBay web page takes more effort. This leads us to guess that eBay's own eBay feedback rating might only be a pathetic 85% or even worse. Little wonder eBay don't include an option to rate eBay itself, is it?
