Those of us who spend a considerable amount of time on the internet, and especially using search engines, will not be surprised at the results. What surprises me, though, is the number of people, intelligent ones, who shown the results, wonder who is selling bollocks, and click the links expecting to find real online auctions for bollocks, and don't appear to have any clue that eBay buy up almost any words as keywords in its search engine marketing campaign. In conversations with experienced internet users, I.T. professionals, etc., it seems that most intelligent people ignore the sponsored links on most searches, but conversely the dummies seem to go for them!. Which are you? What sort of person searches for "bollocks"? It's a pretty good question, and you may well ask, so I will explain. One day in our showroom talking to a medal collector, we performed a few Google searches for something we were discussing at the time, and he commented that he usually got good results from eBay as a result of his searches, and he seemed quite impressed by the fact that eBay always figured high in his searches. He was using the sponsored links! Duh! I happened to comment that even if you searched for "bollocks", eBay would have sponsored links, and sure enough you can see the results for yourself.
